To be honest, I never really gave much thought to the First Aid Stations at the Disney Parks – Until our last visit that is! After more visits than I can count, we found ourselves in need of the first aid station at Hollywood Studios. My 4 year old tripped in front of the Great Movie Ride. This was apparently a severe trip, because his knee starting pouring blood. Some people passing handed us some napkins – but the bleeding wouldn’t stop. My husband scooped him up and we headed to the first aid station.
He got there first, because I had the stroller, and 3 other kids. The nurse took them to a room in the back. It actually took them awhile to get the bleeding to slow down. Then she cleaned up his wound and put a giant baind-aid on it. Luckily, he didn’t need stitches – wasn’t that deep, just large! She then gave us extra bandages and antiboitic cream to keep on his wound. Which was good, because he needed more bandaids with all the bleeding! We actually had to get some more from Animal Kingdom Lodge later…
I was impressed at how clean, professional, well-stocked, and prepared they are in the first-aid stations! People came in while we were there with different ailments – blisters, sunblock in their eyes, etc. I would not hesitate to use the first aid station again, if needed! (hopefully we won’t need it!)
I will now be taking note of where the First Aid Stations are in each Disney Park. Luckily, some people directed us where it was when we needed it! (near the entrance of Hollywood Studios – just an FYI)
