My kids were sad yesterday to hear that they are closing Disney Quest. We went there a few times on our last visit (my son went on his 9th birthday), and they really enjoyed it. 5 Floors of video games – what kid wouldn’t love it? I was not a huge fan of the place. Too noisy and easy to lose kids, but video games aren’t my thing, so I am not the best Judge. My husband and kids, on the other hand, loved the place (so I usually sent him with the older ones and I enjoyed the Savannah View Villa, while the younger ones napped). Although, when we went for my son’s 9th birthday a few months ago, I thoroughly enjoyed watching his face while he rode the Virtual Space Mountain. The person running the ride let us watch the monitor. The look of PURE JOY on his face will be etched in my mind forever.
Disney Quest’s demise is part of the continuing change from Downton Disney into Disney Springs. The whole area was a mess when we were there a few months ago. It will be nice to see what it all looks like when they are finished. There is so much that has closed since our trip a few months ago – glad we got to see/experience it all before they closed!
Disney Quest will be replaced by an NBA experience. The NBA Experience at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) will include high-tech experiences, a restaurant and a store.
Are you happy or sad to see Disney Quest go? I assume Disney was at the point they needed to Upgrade/improve the attraction or let it go. They decided to move on and let it go. Disney is all about change and new attractions, keeping things fresh – even if my family would prefer Disney Quest to the NBA experience.
