DVC Member Services

I am back to the land of the living. I ran Epic Relay this weekend, and then I was down and out with a terrible sickness I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy! Today I am feeling better, so I thought I would FINALLY get around to calling DVC member services again, to add Magical Express to our reservations, now that we had our flight information.

I had called them before, and knew it would be a looooonnnnnggggg wait. Seriously, if I owned DVC (Disney Vacation Club), I would be very annoyed with how long it takes to talk to someone! I have tried calling several times, and keep getting waits of anywhere from 24-45 minutes. SERIOUSLY?!?! I always just decide to call back. I had to call a few months ago, to get the entire family added to our reservation, but I didn’t have our flight information then. *sigh* So a call back closer to our arrival date would be needed.

When I called this morning, I got a wait time of only 13 minutes! YAY! I was thrilled. Must have been a good time to call! I think it took more like 14 minutes, but I did get a hold of someone. Then they tried to look up our reservation. Mind you, I have our reservation #. I am staring at them in My Disney Experience on my computer as I am speaking to her. I ask her repeatedly if she would like that number. No… she’ll find it…. 10 minutes later, so finds the 1st one. ย She enters the flight information.

Then we have to go through it all again to find the second reservation (we have 2 weeks at 2 different DVC resorts). Only this one, I swear took longer.

While we are waiting, she asks me if I know about My Disney Experience. And about getting my FastPass +… Ummm…. Yeah, I did that like a week ago (as soon as it was available!!), we are all set with fastpasses for our entire 2 week trip.

Oh…well, What about dining? Do you need help with reservations? Yeah, I did that like 4 months ago, when our dining options first opened up for us.

Oh, and before you ask, Yes, I have already done our Online Check-in, added our Room Request information, and our credit card information for charging to our magic bands.

 

Oh… ok… Do you need reservations for anything else? No. I made the reservations for my kids Pirate Adventure 4 months ago as well. I even bought our Memory Maker picture package awhile ago. This is not our first time. We know what we are doing ๐Ÿ™‚ I guess I could have mentioned my Disney blogging, but decided not to….

I think I stumped her on how to pass the ever long time that it was taking to look up our reservation – for which I had the reservation # for (and asked repeatedly if she would like). ย The reservation FINALLY came up, and she changed our outgoing Magical Express information (which had changed) and added my Sister in Law’s information. When adding her flight info, something got messed up, and she had to delete it and enter it again. But it is all supposedly in there!

We should be getting our luggage tags in a few days (45 days out is not far away now!!!)

It was about 42 minutes total for the call. Man, if I could have just entered all that online, I would have saved myself 40 minutes of my life. Seriously, the ever long waits and how long it takes to get anything done with their system, is NOT selling me on the DVC! Now once I see the beautiful Villas, my mind might be changed ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just have to get over the incredibly long waits on their phone system for something that would take 2 minutes, if they would just let me do it online…. *sigh*

I get off the phone with her – Thanking her for her help (she was very nice). I do always love how they tell you to have a Magical Day ๐Ÿ™‚ I realized when I hung up, that I forgot to have them take my sister that is no longer coming, off the reservation. DOH! Oh well, It doesn’t matter much. There is no way I am calling and doing that again, so it will be a nice surprise for them when we get there!
