We did one of my favorite Character Meals when we were at Disneyland a few months ago – Goofy’s Kitchen! It is my favorite Character Meal at Disneyland with Minnie & Friends at the Plaza Inn a close second. We decided on Goofy’s this time because we had time to fill on a Saturday that we weren’t at the park (and switching hotels) and didn’t have to use valuable park time for a Character Meal this visit.
We went around 12:30 on Saturday. This is a FANTASTIC time to go!! I am not a big breakfast person, so this time allows us to basically eat lunch, but it is at the Breakfast prices! YES! This is great for us, because I much prefer a large lunch to a large breakfast or dinner! (plus, saves money!)
The buffet was FANTASTIC – at least by buffet standards. We all really enjoyed it! The Eggs Benedict? YUM! I ate like 2 of them alone! All sorts of yummy foods, that there is something for everyone! There is a kids buffet full of kid-friendly foods. There is of course, an extensive dessert bar too!
The Character interaction was FANTASTIC! Since we were there toward the end of their operating hours for the morning/afternoon, the characters came and interacted with our kids often because there weren’t many people left in the restaurant! We got plenty of time, several different times, with each character. Since we weren’t worried about getting back to the parks, we were able to enjoy the time with all the characters (trying to get our money’s worth!).
Our baby was a favorite of the characters! Since there were not many people left in the restaurant, they all kept coming back to love on him. It was adorable. I even took a video of them not wanting to let him go. When we were finally getting ready to leave, all the characters there kind of circled around us, admiring him and cooing (well, silently cooing, since they don’t talk) at him. It was something we’ll always remember! Chip even walked us out of the restaurant holding his hands and didn’t want to let him go when we got to the exit. Of course, our baby ate it up! He loved it. He was all smiles and laughs, which encouraged the characters more! We have loved and enjoyed all of our character meals, but this one was especially memorable thanks to the amazing Character interaction with all our kids, but especially our baby! Something we will always cherish and remember!
Many wonder and I am often asked if Character meals are worth the money, and I say “Yes!!!!” It is worth the money to splurge once during your trip! It will give you great memories and an experience you’ll always remember!
