Look at what came in the mail today!!!
I love getting mail to remind me of our upcoming trip! Just means it is getting closer!!
I LOVE Magical Express. It is probably one of the biggest reasons I like to stay onsite! It is EXPENSIVE to rent a van, when you have 4 kids, you have no other choice! Just paying to get us to and from the airport in some sort of shuttle would cost us over $100 each way!
When you stay at Disney, they pick you up from the airport for FREE! No car rental or paid shuttle service needed! You enter the Magic of Disney right from the airport! The buses are large and nice. They do the driving, and the toll paying for you! You sit back and get to enjoy a little video while they drive you to your hotel! SWEET! I dislike driving, as does my husband, especially in places we are not familiar with!
If you have checked bags, you can place these yellow stickers on them:
And then the bags show up in your room later, like magic! No need to wait at the luggage carousel to pick up your bags! Go directly to the bus and get on – they get your bags for you, and deliver them to your room at no charge!
One year, the bags were just in our room when we got back for the day. Another year, we were resting in our room after the flight, and we saw the magical people that bring the bags. They apologized for disrupting us, as you don’t usually see the people that deliver the bags – they are supposed to magically show up in your room… 🙂
It is a great system, and I know for us it is a BIG reason we stay on site. Save us so much money on renting a car or paying for a shuttle/taxi when we are a large family!
The bummer about getting these? We are not going to use them this trip! 🙁
I am actually kind of bummed not to start our trip on the magical express! We always start our trips on the Magical Express!! 🙁
But since we are going to Legoland the day before we check in at Disney and are staying at a hotel at the airport, we are renting a car for the day, to get to Legoland (cheaper than the shuttles). It is the same price to return the car to the airport, as it is to return it to the Disney Car Care Center, so we decided we would just drop our luggage off at the hotel, and then just return the car at Disney, saving us a step, and since it was the same price, it reduced alot of hassle and will save us quite a bit of time!!
But I am still sad we won’t start our trip on the Magical Express this time… My sister in law comes in a few days after us, and she is taking the Magical Express, and since it is her first time to Disneyworld, she will get the entire experience!
We are taking the Magical Express back to the airport, but that is not nearly as fun 🙁 I mean that means you are leaving Disney… Rather a sad ride instead of fun.. So yes, you can just take the Magical Express one-way! Either to or from the airport, or round-trip!
I REALLY REALLY wish Disneyland had something like the Magical Express. I might be tempted to stay in one of their hotels, if they had a perk like this!
Now we are just waiting for our Magic bands to show up! I think they ship out this week, so we should be seeing them soon!!
