DisneyParksBlog announced some new FastPass options for Disneyland.
First, the good news. They will be adding FastPasses to Toy Story Mania and Matterhorn. YAY! This is GREAT news! I’ve been wanting fastpass on Toy Story Mania for so long. I love having it at Disneyworld and it will be a nice addition to Disneyland.
Second, I haven’t decided whether it is good or bad news. I need more information about it before I decide yay or nay! Disneyland will be adding MaxPass option later this year. The good: Only $10 for unlimited PhotoPass photo downloads for the day. That is an awesome deal! The I’m not sure: You’ll have the option to book your fastpasses via the app.
I LOVE the idea of booking your fastpass via the app because I loved doing it at Disneyworld. No running around to get your fastpasses. However, unless they have a family rate/option, a $10 upcharge PER PERSON is outrageous. Plus my kids don’t all have their own smartphones. How would I book their fastpasses if we have to do it all separately? At Disneyworld, it is FREE and all our magic bands were consolidated to my account, so I was able to book everyone’s fastpasses at the same time, all together, for FREE. So I am reserving my option on this until more information is released. If I have to pay an additional $10 per person (even kids!) for this, that would run my family $60 ($70 when the baby is older) upcharge PER day! Yeah no… If they had a family option, that would make it totally worth it. I’ll just head to Disneyworld instead, where I can get that for free. For $60+ a day for my family, it would make WDW much cheaper option, even with the further travel. Depending on how they structure this, it could be a REALLY cool and a nice addition, or it could suck and be such a large upcharge, that we will be just heading to WDW from now on…
